AceShowbiz – Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor has died aged 67, after losing his battle with cancer.
According to his brother Randhir, Rishi was taken to hospital in Mumbai, India, on Wednesday morning (April 29) after complaining of breathing difficulties. He passed away on Thursday.
Rishi – part of the Kapoor acting dynasty – was most well known for his romantic roles in Bollywood films, and first burst onto the scene in 1973 movie “Bobby” before going on to star in other box office smashes such as “Khel Khel Mein”, “Karz” and “Chandni”.
In more recent years, he became famous for his character roles, while also taking on cameos in small films.
He had struggled with his health since 2018, when he was diagnosed with cancer, and underwent a year-long treatment in New York before returning to India last September.
Following news of Rishi’s passing, stars flocked to social media to pay their respects, with Amitabh Bachchan, who co-starred with him in several movies, tweeting: “He’s GONE .. ! Rishi Kapoor .. gone .. just passed away .. I am destroyed !”
