AceShowbiz – Britney Spears has finally unraveled the reason why she has not been using her home gym for quite a while. Before sharing her latest workout routine in a social media video, the “Toxic” hitmaker took fans back to the exercise space in her home, and revealed that she had accidentally set it on fire a few months back.
The 38-year-old singer made the confession in a video she posted on Instagram on Wednesday, April 29. Before going into her exercise tutorial, she opened the more-than-two-minute clip by telling fans, “Hey, guys! I’m in my gym right now. I haven’t been in here for, like, six months, because I burned my gym down unfortunately.”
The ex-girlfriend of Justin Timberlake went on to explain what exactly happened at the time. “I had two candles, and yeah, one thing led to another, and I burned it down,” she elaborated. “So, I’m in here and we only have two piece of equipment left, and I’m going to show you what I do during this time.”
Spears proceeded to show off some of her workouts that included light weightlifting and yoga moves. For her routine exercise, she donned black sports-bra top and tiny ab-baring shorts. She loosely tied her blonde hair into a messy bun.
In the caption of the video, the “…Baby One More Time” once again addressed the burned down incident. She exclaimed, “It was an accident …. but yes …. I burnt it down. I walked past the door to the gym and flames [fire emojis] BOOM !!!!!!”
The “Crossroads” star further assured no one was harmed in the incident. “By the Grace of God the alarm went off after that and yippy hoorah nobody got hurt,” she voiced her relief. “Unfortunately now I have only two pieces of equipment left lol and a one-sided mirror gym!!!!! But it could be much worse so I’m grateful. Pssss I like working out better outside anyways.”
The “Everytime” singer’s confession, however, was not supported by Ventura County Fire Department. A public information officer for the department told HollywoodLife, “We have found no reports of a fire at that location. Not six months ago or at any time.”
