Larry Demery has, along with Daniel Andre Green, been found found guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery charges stemming from the fatal shooting of James Jordan Sr. back in July 1993.

AceShowbiz – A man convicted of murdering the father of basketball legend Michael Jordan is up for parole.

Larry Demery and Daniel Andre Green were both handed life sentences after they were found guilty of first-degree murder and armed robbery charges relating to the fatal shooting of James Jordan, Sr. back in July, 1993.

Jordan, Sr. had been taking a nap in his car at a North Carolina rest stop when he was attacked, and the 56-year-old’s remains were only recovered 11 days later after his body was thrown off a bridge in South Carolina.

Now 44-year-old Demery has become eligible for parole, and his request is under consideration by officials at the North Carolina Post-Release Supervision and Parole Commission.

He is seeking to be enrolled in the Mutual Agreement Parole Program, which authorities explain is “designed to prepare selected inmates for release through structured activities, scheduled progression in custody levels, participation in community based programs and established parole dates”.

A decision has yet to be made.
