AceShowbiz – Evangeline Lilly won’t be confined to her home amid the coronavirus pandemic as she “values freedom over her life”.
Despite warnings from the World Health Organisation (WHO) urging people to practice social distancing and stay home amid the health scare, the “Ant-Man and the Wasp” star, 40, said it was “business as usual” as she dropped her children off at their activities.
“Just dropped my kids off at gymnastics camp. They all washed their hands before going in. They are playing and laughing. #businessasusual,” she penned.
Responding to her fans’ concerns and judgmental comments, Lilly revealed that she’s living with her father, who has stage four leukaemia, adding: “I am also immune compromised at the moment. I have two young kids. Some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives. We all make our choices.”
The former “Lost” star referred to Covid-19 as a “respiratory flu”, and insisted the government is taking too much control in putting states across the U.S. on lockdown.
“Where we are right now feels a lot too close to Marshall Law (sic) for my comfort already, all in the name of a respiratory flu,” she said. “It’s unnerving… Let’s be vigilant right now. And kind. Watchful and gracious — keeping a close eye on our leaders, making sure they don’t abuse this moment to steal away more freedoms and grab more power.”
Hinting there was a conspiracy behind the health crisis, she cryptically added: “There’s ‘something’ every election year.”
The outbreak of Covid-19 has seen more than 227,700 cases of Covid-19 registered, resulting in a death toll of over 9,300, since it began in December (19).
