AceShowbiz – Heavily pregnant country star Maren Morris is breathing a sigh of relief after her Nashville, Tennessee home was spared by a deadly tornado which struck on Tuesday morning (March 03).
The devastating twister ripped through the city and other areas of central Tennessee, killing at least 19 people, with many more missing or injured.
A host of Nashville-based musicians took to social media in the aftermath of the natural disaster to check in with fans, with Morris among those counting their lucky stars – because her neighbourhood was right in the path of the tornado’s destruction.
“The tornado must have missed our block by an inch because we are alright but I am so depleted looking at the damage that has happened to our beautiful city,” tweeted Morris, who is due later this month.
“There are so many people in the streets helping already, though. Thinking of those who lost their loved ones + homes.”
Marren Moris said she escaped the Nashville tornado by ‘an inch.’
Her husband, fellow singer Ryan Hurd, revealed he wasn’t home to witness the natural disaster, which has torn apart their city.
“We are ok. I’m in New York and Maren and our house are fine, but our neighborhood is not,” he shared.
“Places we have loved for many years don’t look like they are there any more. We are so thankful and devastated at the same time.”
Her husband, Ryan Hurd, also assured fans that they’re OK after the natural disaster.
Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood was frantically calling her husband, Mike Fisher, to ensure the retired ice hockey player and their two young sons were safe as she promoted her new health and fitness book in New York.
“I’m like, texting people I know (in Nashville) and asking my husband, ‘Everybody’s good?’,” she shared on U.S. breakfast show “Today“.
“He said he had to go upstairs at like, 2 am and grab the boys to take them down to – we have like, a little safe room in our house.”
“I bet everybody was crying. It was 2am; you’re like, freaking out.”
Musician Abby Anderson also assured fans she was OK, although it was a close call: “Big tornado ripped through my favorite spots in Nash tonight (sic),” she wrote. “Including right across the street from me. Hope all my Nash ppl (people) are okay especially my neighbors.”
Abby Anderson updated fans with her condition after the tornado.
And singer Cassadee Pope urged followers to “stay safe” as the major storm continued to batter the area.
“The dogs, our home and I are safe. Thank you to everyone who reached out,” she posted.
“My thoughts are with those who lost their homes and businesses during this crazy tornado. The storms aren’t over so stay safe and sheltered, Nashville”.
