AceShowbiz – Country music icon Reba McEntire has put her mother’s funeral plans on hold “indefinitely.”
Jacqueline McEntire passed away on Saturday (March 14) at the age of 93, but the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic appears to have prompted her loved ones to delay plans for a traditional memorial service.
The “Heart Won’t Lie” singer Reba took to Twitter on Monday to share the news with fans, although she didn’t mention the global health crisis directly.
“After much thought and careful consideration among our family, we have decided to indefinitely postpone Mama’s funeral and burial at this time,” she wrote.
“We will continue to monitor the situation and let you know as soon as possible about future plans to celebrate her life.”
Reba’s update emerges as authorities across the U.S. encourage residents to take heed of isolation and social distancing advice to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
At least 3,700 cases of infection have been confirmed in America, where the disease has resulted in at least 67 deaths, as of Monday.
